Basic information for the participants at the Mass with Pope Benedict XVI in Stará Boleslav

When: Monday, 28th September 2009 at 9:45 am.

Where: Stará Boleslav - grass plot near the road to Mělník (Google Maps).

Regarding traffic restrictions and waiting periods it is necessary to arrive in advance. More information about transport is available HERE.

Concelebrating priests and assisting deacons: Registrations have been closed. Registered priests will take a white alb (amice, cincture) and a red stole.

Access to sectors: The area will be opened on Monday, 28th September, from 4:00 am; the common program starts at 6:00 am. Sectors will be marked and the exact location will be given on the place reservation. Pilgrims should take their posts no later than 9:00 am. Several screens will be located within the area.

Sitting places: People can bring their own stools to the sectors.

Sanitary facilities and refreshments: There will be sufficient number of mobile toilets in the area which will be located on the outside of the sectors. You can find tents with the drinking water near them.

Health service: Health care workers will be present in marked places within the area, able to access all sectors; two health workers will be present in every sector.

Pre-program: On Sunday, 27th September, the program in the "Mariánské náměstí" in Stará Boleslav starts at 8:00 pm. Adoration in the Our Lady basilica starts at 10:30 pm; confessions, intercession prayers and priests to talk to are available.

Camp site: Pilgrims can sleep in their own tents or in the open air in the tent town. Sectors will be open from 4:00 am.

Organizers: Health care workers of the Maltese Aid wearing vests with Maltese cross and organizers will be present in the streets between sectors. There will be a direct connection to main organizers from the information tent.

Distribution of the Eucharist: The Holy Communion will be distributed in all sectors, priests will be marked with a red-white umbrella. Only those Christians can receive the Eucharist who live in the communion of the Catholic Church, receive sacraments regularly and are prepared to receive in a dignified way. If you are - from any reason - unable to receive during the Mass, you can ask to receive the Eucharist after the liturgy in two marked tents behind last sectors.

Leaving the area: Please leave the sectors after the departure of the Holy Father. Stay in your places, there is a program prepared. To leave the area, please listen to instructions of the organizers.
